SBC: Week Five!

Hey EDU Blogs!

Today’s post will be about the SBC week five challenge. I will be choosing two tasks to write about in this post from a list you can find here. Anyways, the two tasks that I will be doing are going to be tasks two and four.

Task two: For this task, I will explain my everyday school day.

  • How do I get to school? I get to school by car. My mom drops me off, and my dad picks me up. It’s also very convenient that since I moved into a new house recently, it’s very close to my school!
  • What is my schedule like? Do I have any set subjects at certain times? My schedule changes very much every day. Depending on what day it is, we have different resource classes like Japanese, Personal Fitness and Physical Education, Technology, Research Skills, Art, and Taiko. I have certain subjects at different times of the day all the time. Fun fact: I completely memorized the entire schedule, even the other class’ one too!
  • Do you have one teacher or many? I have one homeroom teacher, but there is also one more teacher for sixth grade as well. In total, we have four main teachers for each core class- Language Arts, math, science, and social studies.
  • What time do you begin and end school? I begin school at 7:45 am and end at 2:45 pm.
  • Do you get to choose what you learn? Sometimes, we get to decide who we want to work with for group projects and also get to choose what topic we want to cover with our group. Most times though, we just have set topics to learn in class.
  • What technology do you have at school? We have a wide variety of devices and technology offered to us at school. From fourth grade and up, you need to purchase your own device to work with. If you forget to bring it or it is disabled, you can always just borrow a computer from our technology class. We do many online games to help us learn things like vocabulary, concepts, and studying.

Task four: What happens at break times?

  • Do you take home lunch or eat school lunch? I always used to take home lunch when I was younger, but my family has to wake up really early to have enough time to make it in the morning, so I just get school lunch. This is a picture of school lunch from last year. I honestly don’t know how I found this in my photos!😂
  • What do you do at break time? Are there any popular games, sports, or activities at your school? At break time, my friends and I usually hang out together by playing games on our devices, eat snacks, study/practice for upcoming tests, and do extra homework. A lot of people at my school like to play basketball and volleyball, but I don’t.
  • What precautions do you have to take from the weather at break times? Hats? Sunscreen? Snowsuits? Is school ever canceled or do you ever have to stay inside? From where I live, it’s always very hot, so some people might put on sunscreen, but most people don’t. We don’t get snow, sadly, so we don’t have any school canceling.

That is the end for both tasks. I hope everyone enjoyed this week’s post! It’s getting pretty late where I live, so bye EDU Blogs! See you next week😘
